Park Rules

Gloucester Code of Ordinances; Art II Dogs sect. 4-21 (d) violations of any provision shall be subject to a fine, in addition the Animal Control officer may revoke use of the Dog Park.

Dogs Rule... but there are rules for the park. 
​Use of this park constitutes your agreement with the following:

 

General:

  • Hours: Dawn to 9pm and may be closed as conditions require
  • Use at your own risk. You are responsible or damage or injury inflicted by your dog
  • Neither the City of Gloucester nor any of its agents or agencies or volunteers shall be liable for any injury or damage caused in the dog park
  • All rules governing city parks and relevant parking regulations apply
  • Maximum of 3 dogs per adult permitted inside the dog park
  • Children under the age of 8 are not permitted inside the dog park
  • Minors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Aggressive behavior (from dogs or people) requires immediate removal


Prohibited

  • Food
  • Smoking
  • Alcoholic beverages and glass containers
  • Bicycles, strollers, skateboards, roller blades, bare feet
  • Running, shouting or screaming


Dogs:

All dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the park

  • All dogs must wear current license/ID and rabies tags


Prohibited:

  • Choke, prong or spike collars
  • Female dogs in heat
  • Puppies younger than 4 months of age
  • Unaltered male dogs
  • Aggressive dog behavior or excessive barking
  • Toys of any kind - except tennis balls


Dog Handlers

  • Poop happens - please use bags and receptacles
  • Fill in any holes your dog(s) dig
  • Have a leash in your possession at all times
  • Keep your dog(s) within sight and vocal command at all times
  • Wait until double gated entry and exit area is free of all other dogs and people before entering area
